It is not unusual for Fiberglass extension ladders of 36’ and 40’ lengths to drop down to a 250Lb load capacity, that is the practice of several manufacturers regardless of the model number. The label on the ladder should in fact say it has a 250lb load capacity. The Aluminum Access Ladder with a cage is built to last a while. The walk through top is flared so you can easily walk through it. For your safety the aluminum access ladder has slip resistant serrated rungs. Our ladder can hold up to 300 pounds and is as tall as 30 feet. Alaco manufactures a variety of ladders for easy access to mezzanines, equipment lofts and similar applications. Mezzanine Ladders are available at custom angles and come standard with extended handrails but can be ordered with flush handrails or without handrails. Alaco manufactures a full line of ladders for access to roof hatches. All ships ladders and folding ladders are available in custom angles.
There are several aspects to be considered when in need of a fixed rooftop ladder including access points, safety features, durability and maintenance. A roof access ladder should be both accessible and functional, customized to your exact space and needs with safety features like stainless steel hardware and fall protection systems. They should be built to resist rust or corrosion over time especially in applications where they are exposed to the elements. And whether aluminium used ladders for sale is folding ladders, telescopic ladders, or insulation ladders. This Louisville Elite Series aluminum attic ladder has a working load capability of 375lbs. This aluminum attic ladder fits ceiling heights of 7′ 8″ to 10′ 3″ and has a rough opening of 22.5″ X 54″. The Elite AA2210 attic ladder features slip resistant cross-tread steps, adjustable shoes, an advanced cylinder design, and an ergonomic T-handle. The Louisville AA2210 aluminum attic ladder meets or exceeds the safety standards set by ANSI. The Little Giant King Kombo Articulating Fiberglass Step Ladder and the Werner Leansafe are both step ladders that can be simply converted into extension ladders. They’re similar to the Select Step in many ways and come at a cheaper price, but they don’t have the height versatility as a step ladder and they can’t be set up on stairs.
Advantage of this ladder is that any of rungs can be replaced whenever required. Rungs made of corrugated aluminum pipes of 25 mm dia available in one hole and three holes type. High quality heavy duty steel construction and effortless moving wheels with super quality Aluminium section. And winch to reduce operation effortless and increase working stability. Just as important as choosing the correct ladder for the job, is the fact that you also need to pick the right accessories. Specialty ladders — such as the Little Giant ladder — can help to address those unique or dangerous situations that just can’t be safely done any other way. There is really no one perfect material for every situation. You need to choose the type of material that best matches the environment that your ladder will be used in and stored in. Without a ladder, your efforts may be fruitless when attempting to gain access to a hard-to-reach household problem area.
And when 12 feet of fiberglass is the only thing standing between you and getting the job done, it helps to have a partner as committed to the work as you are. Since the 1940s, Precision has been producing superior, commercial-grade, industrial-strength access products. Precision Ladders specializes in light-weight, low-maintenance, and high-strength aluminum products. All Alaco Ladders are built to exacting specifications by skilled craftsmen for optimum safety and performance. Alaco Ladders also have a generous 5 Year Limited Warranty. We should, however, take the maintenance of aerial ladders seriously, because there’s a lot more riding on those rungs and rails besides a roof ladder, an ax, and a pike pole-you are!
In fact, I’ve spent quite a bit of time on this exact ladder. The feet of the D have nonslip textured rubber grips for use on hard, flat surfaces. When you set up the ladder on a lawn or other soft surface, you can pivot the feet so that the claw end faces downward, ready for you to dig it into the ground for a better grip. We found that both setups are successful and very stable. The utility bucket easily held a bottle of Windex, a roll of paper towels, a cordless drill, a prybar, a hammer, and a handful of small, easy-to-lose aluminum storm window screws. Lastly, the GLF-5X model’s tool tray is on the small side, and Gorilla does not offer any add-on accessories such as a utility bucket. We tested similar accessories from Werner and found them to be fantastic for a variety of projects. The Gorilla ladder does appear to be compatible with third-party items such as the Rack-A-Tiers Ladder Mate (which we haven’t tested). We’ve continued to use the Gorilla GLF-5X for a number of indoor and outdoor tasks, as well as through a small renovation.
When application heights exceed 20 feet, fall protection is required. O’Keeffe’s fixed ladders with safety cages provide the level of safety that’s needed to meet safety standards set by OSHA. All of our aluminum safety cage ladders are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and low-maintenance to ensure workers are protected. Ergonomically designed to provide safety and user comfort, you can rely on the quality of our fixed ladders with safety cages to protect you and your workers in any hazardous climbing condition. Between the two of them, aluminum ladders are lighter and easier to manage, but fiberglass ladders are typically much sturdier. For one-person jobs, aluminum ladders are great because they are light, but fiberglass ladders are a better choice. Whether a ladder is made of aluminum or fiberglass, the pricing is always based on the height. Typically, however, fiberglass ladders are slightly more expensive than aluminum. Fiberglass more than makes up for it in longevity, durability, and safety.

Fiberglass ladders won’t lose strength when they get hot, either. They are actually very heat resistant, while aluminum ladders become weaker due to heat. Another difference between the two is how they handle weather. An aluminum ladder is fairly resistant to weather, but a fiberglass ladder is even more resistant. In addition, fiberglass ladders are resistant to electricity, which means they are safer around power lines. Step ladders are great forgeneral work around the house. You can usually reach heights of 4-8ft above the ground, which works for a lot of repairs and projects. This ladder is much taller than a stepping stool, and has multiple steps. Price is a factor to consider when looking at ladder reviews. Aluminum ladders are by and large cheaper when compared to fiberglass ladders.
The two ladders have the same weight rating, the same general build, and similar safety shoes. Like Werner, Louisville is a respected name in the ladder industry, and through my construction career I’ve stood on many Louisville Type IA ladders with complete confidence. Where the Werner model edges out the Louisville model is in its availability in stores. If you’re willing to sacrifice a little standing stability for working convenience, we also like the Werner FS106 6 ft Type I Fiberglass Single Sided Stepladder. This is a traditional stepladder without the Gorilla GLF-5X’s platform steps, which is a drawback. But to its advantage, the tool tray is compatible with a number of accessories that we found to be extremely helpful during our testing. The FS106 has excellent build quality, and in our tests it hardly wobbled at all, even while we stood on it and aggressively shifted our weight around. Together, a properly sized extension ladder and stepladder make a nice complementary pair.
There are aluminum ladders that have rubber stand-offs to help absorb electricity, but they are not as sure of a bet as fiberglass ladders. Because fiberglass ladders are more massive than aluminum ladders, they can be hard to manage alone. That is the reason that many people doing a solo project use aluminum over fiberglass. With that said, the sturdiness and safety of fiberglass make it a better choice than aluminum. Fiberglass ladders can be more expensive than aluminum, sometimes with a 20 foot costing up to $250. One of the main benefits of aluminum ladders is how light they are, but the tradeoff may be weaker than fiberglass. Aluminum ladders are easy to carry and move around as needed while doing the work you need to do.
